Happy 100th Birthday, SLA!
 
The year 2009 is our association’s Centennial anniversary.  There will be many association-wide events planned throughout the year to celebrate this momentous occasion.  We’ll also be celebrating here at home in our Chapter, so watch for details of the events to come!

The beginning of a New Year is a time for reflection on the past and looking forward to the future. The Illinois Chapter of SLA had a great year in 2007, with social outings to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Ravinia and the Newberry Library. We held dine-arounds and book clubs as well as regular chapter meetings on such diverse topics as change management and strategies for success for information professionals.

Welcome to the new chapter year! We had our kick-off meeting last month which was a huge success despite a last minute change in speaker. Thank you Catherine Sanders Reach, for taking us to the cutting edge of technologies and offering many excellent tips for info pros.

New Challenges for New Hands

We celebrated our past and contemplated our future at the chapter's annual business meeting May 11 at the Union League Club.
