Combined Midwest Chapters Open House Was a Success

Despite a dose of New Orleans' daily rain which seemed to be an offshoot of the high humidity, the attendance at the Midwest Chapters Open House held on Monday, June 14th at the Sheraton Hotel spoke well for the future of combined endeavors. Though we can't claim an exact total, an eyeball estimate would seem to be over 100 people in the room at any given time. This proved to be a great way for people to sort of meet up, share a bite or a drink on common turf, gather in groups for dinner or head back to rest their feet and brains for the next day.

Thanks go out to Kyle Naff of the Wisconsin Chapter for setting this event up and seeing it through, as well as to all of the other Midwest chapters that made it happen and supported it with their attendance. We hope to continue and strengthen this tradition in the future.

During the closing ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, Kyle and I discussed some ideas about pooling our chapters for webinars and other virtual programming, which would also enable us to solicit sponsorships with the promise of broader reach.  I'd love to hear ideas from our members and partners about ways in which we might make this type of collaboration come to life. Nothing's a crazy idea, serve it up!
