In order to increase accessibility for more members, a few changes have been made to the Summer Splash event at the Art Institute of Chicago. You can choose to meet other members there to tour the museum, show up and share a drink or two, and\or stay for dinner together at the Park Grill in Millenium Park. Details are provided below, and you can now register on the chapter website calendar entry, so that we know what you'll be joining us for and have a way of contacting you in case of changes or updates. Registration will close on August 14th at close of business day. Also, don't forget the Grant Park concert on August 14th featuring Beethoven's 9th!

Join SLA friends to visit the Art Institute on a Thurs. evening. Tour the new Modern Wing, see some of the special exhibits in either wing, or just enjoy your favorite galleries with old friends or new acquaintances. Current special exhibits include:

• Photography on Display: Modern Treasures, in Modern Wing
• A Case for Wine: From King Tut to Today
• Beyond Golden Clouds: Japanese Screens from the Art Institute of Chicago and the Saint Louis Art Museum

You will also have the option to join colleagues for your choice of drinks and/or dinner. The elements of this event are independent of each other, and all costs are your own option. You may skip the Art Institute entirely and join us for dinner, skip the tour and just come for a drink, whatever you choose.

Details - your choice of options:

5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tour the Art Institute, free admission

6:00 - 6:15 p.m. Meet on the open public patio on the third floor of the Modern Wing, right beyond the outdoor Terzo Piano Restaurant dining tables.
[Rain location - Modern Wing Monroe St. entry lobby, ground floor] You can decide whether to tour the museum with colleagues or have drinks in the bar (or both).

6:15 - ??? drinks with colleagues

7:30 p.m. - Dinner at Park Grill, 11 North Michigan Avenue, in Millennium Park. Entrees range from $15 - $42, average $22. Peruse the menu at http://www.parkgrillchicago.com/. You may choose whatever you want from the menu. Separate checks will be available. We do not have a private room, so reservations are required due to the limited space. If we get more reservations than expected, they will be accepted in order received, up to the limit of seats the restaurant can offer us. Please register by Friday, Aug. 14, so we can confirm the size of the dinner reservation.
