Tour the Zoo (http://www.brookfieldzoo.org/) and hear our own Carla Owens (Illinois Chapter Past President) tell the story of celebrating the Zoo’s 75th Anniversary by authoring Brookfield Zoo and the Chicago Zoological Society (Douglas Deuchler, Carla W. Owens, Arcadia Press http://www.arcadiapublishing.com/) Book will be available at lunch for sale ($24.19 including tax) and signing.

If registered by 5pm on 7/21/09, your name will be at the SOUTH Gate parking attendant booth and also at SOUTH Gate Zoo entrance. Arrive early to find your way in off of 1st Avenue.
Meet SLA friends at Zoo at 10:00am sharp inside South Gate near Lion Statue for tram tour and discussion about how the book became a reality weaving stories about the Zoo’s history throughout.
The tram will take us to Bocaditos where we can purchase our lunches (Dutch Treat). Menu items include: pizza, Caesar salad, cobb salad, organic turkey, turkey, or ham sandwiches, yogurt w/granola. Or you may bring your lunch.
Then the tram will take us to the Discovery Center where we can continue our discussion and networking.
