SLA has joined with the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) to develop a new professional development course for librarians and information professionals entitled the Certified Content Rights Manager (CCRM) course.

The CCRM curriculum is designed to help an organization properly manage their content rights. 

The SLA-sponsored CCRM course is designed to explain the legal issues surrounding copyright law and how it pertains to licensing, disseminating and use of publications and related content throughout organizations of all sizes.  Students completing the course, including a certification exam, will have a deeper understanding of management and employee needs regarding the proper and improper uses of copyrighted content whether in print or electronic form.  The CCRM is perfect for corporate librarians & information professionals, corporate counsel, human resource personnel, IT managers, compliance officers, and others who use content throughout their workday or manage those who do.
