Making Things Happen: DineArounds

By Joanne Kiley, Manager of Information Services, Michael Best & Friedrich LLP

DineArounds are dinner gatherings of chapter members, in a variety of locations, at the same time. We network, trade work stories, share our interests, and have a good time.

For this 2005-2006, the first DineAround was held October 27. It was hosted in Champaign, Ill. at the Great Impasta by a GSLIS student Kyle Naff with 14 people in attendance. Valerie Kropf and Julie Pabarja hosted a DineAround in Oakbrook at Reza's with six people. Leora Siegel hosted in Evanston at That Little Mexican Café with five people. Anita Santoro offered a DineAround in downtown Chicago at the Maggiano’s on Grand Ave. However no one RSVP-ed. Veronica Toussaint hosted a DineAround at the Flat Top Grill in Oak Park. There, too, unfortunately no one could attend.

The second DineAround day was called for March 7. DineArounds were held in Bloomington, downtown Chicago, Evanston, Lombard, and Lincolnshire. The Bloomington DineAround, hosted by Kyle Naff, was held at the Central Station Café with eight people in attendance. The downtown Chicago DineAround, hosted by Joanne Kiley, was held at Lalos with 11 people. The Evanston DineAround was hosted by Leora Siegel again and was held at Tommy Nevin’s Pub with four people. Dianna Wiggins hosted at Bucca di Beppo in Lombard with seven people. The Lincolnshire DineAround was hosted by Anita Santoro.

Competitive intelligence was never more enjoyable.
